We were about 3 minutes late to the Virginia Law Family egg hunt and almost missed the entire thing. The kids were practically finished finding eggs by the time we got there. Luckily they had missed 3 in the far corner where we walked in.
Aj was happy to find any eggs he could. He didn't know there were goodies inside. One of our friends felt bad and so as soon as her son took the candy out of his eggs they kind of placed the empty ones in the garden behind them. AJ thought he had hit the jackpot. That excitement didn't last long when one of his eggs popped open and he found chocolate inside... after that he was a little disappointed to find that most of his eggs were empty.
Turns out only one of his eggs had chocolate in them and the other two were a sad disappointment with stickers. He was only upset for a fw minutes and then proceeded to put the stickers all over his car seat.
Our ward had a food bank collection and charity run for our activity. In order to get in the gates at the girls camp we had to bring some canned goods for the food drive.
King Benjamin (Bishop Schill) came and spoke from his tower to encourage us to serve others and remember the purpose of Easter. AJ kept calling him Jesus...I think it is because he had a beard. Oh the simple mind of a child. :)Soon the charity walk began. They had a 5k set up with a shorter 2 mile walk around. We decided that in my condition the walk around would be best. And so everyone loaded up their strollers and water bottles and set off for a beautiful morning run.
The boys pushed for a little
Us ladies had a nice chat (and yes those are some people on their way back from the top point of the run...how embarrassing)
Notice the giant "Easter Egg" in the right bottom corner...that would be my festive, but large belly.
That afternoon I decided to try dying eggs with AJ. It was a huge hit. He loved watching them change colors. He got a little impatient waiting for the colors to deepen, but he had fun dipping them and learning the colors at the same time.
Easter Morning was quiet and simple. We had German Pancakes for breakfast while we searched through our Easter baskets.
I love spring and tulips. I couldn't pass up a chance to get a few to grace our table.
Off to choir practice, then church, then a quiet afternoon in our pajamas. I couldn't have asked for a better Easter. I love spending time with my boys. They truly are my whole world and bring me so much joy. I can't wait to add another one to the gang.
