Easter Fun

We were so lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa Fairbank come visit for Easter. They knew they wouldn't be able to visit for AJ's birthday so they came out this week for some festive fun. They showed up Friday evening and babysat while Joe and I went out on a date. We only went to dinner, but it was nice to not have to worry about keeping the baby quiet in the restaurant. We really enjoyed our time alone, and then looked forward to spending the rest of the evening chatting with Jean and Keith about summer plans.
The next morning was our big Ward Easter Party. The ward missionaries were in charge of the activity, so Joe had to go early to cut up fruit and set up tables.

Joe and I were asked to sing for the devotional program. It was a simple, but beautiful musical number. Thank you Steven for playing for us!
Next was the highlight of the activity! the Easter egg hunt. AJ really got into it.

Grandma even helped him, so he wouldn't eat the foil. 

We had a blast at our activity.

That afternoon we relaxed and got to let AJ open his first birthday present!!! Grandma and Grandpa brought it up early so they cold watch him open it.

Last Easter we were in the hospital waiting to go home after having AJ. We didn't really have a chance to start any traditions so this year we came up with a few. I wanted to put together a few Easter goodies, and of course got carried away.

That is a lot of Easter Baskets for just a family of three. I of course had to make one for Grandma and Grandpa, and then I realized that the sister missionaries would be here for dinner on Sunday so I had to make one for them too. :)

It was a wonderful weekend. So much relaxing, talking, and way too much food.

Later that night we fed the missionaries on our fine china and enjoyed a beautiful Easter message from them . This is the only picture I got of the set up. The tulips are from the Tulip Festival just outside of town. A good friend of mine picked some for us to brighten up our home for the holiday. 

Another perk to the visit was we finally got to hang up our Christmas gift from Potts. Jean and Keith had been holing on to it since they brought it back from Utah. I think it looks great on the wall. Thanks Potts! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for taking the time to come down and see us! We loved it and look forward to our next visit with you!
