25 Days of Service

Our church initiated a wonderful goal for December. They asked each member to be a part of a campaign called 25 Days of Service. We set to work coming up with different was to serve. I thought it would be fun to be able to watch our service spread, so I found 4 paper chains and added 25 slips to each. We assigned a color to each of us and every time we did an act of service we got to add it to the family chain. It was a great way to keep our minds on Christ through the holiday.
Individual chains
Family chain getting off to a good start.
We pooled our ideas. Some were individual activities, some were full family affairs.
Baked yummy goodies for our neighbors.
Colored and wrapped our christmas gifts.
The chain is growing...
We bought and donated a whole armload of coats to "Coats for Kids" to help the kids at Aj's school who needed an extra layer to stay warm.
This was the end of our chain by Christmas day. It is cool to think that each on of those papers was a time when someone put their own interest aside and made an opportunity to show their love! Best way to spend our holiday.
