Mardi Gras Party!

So, I have a terrible addiction to throwing parties. This was no exception. I wanted to throw my own kind of Mardi Gras party. With the help of the lovely Linda Peterson we invited every single student family we could think of. It was so be a Cajun Potluck. The three women who planned the party provided, shrimp ettouffee (Rachel, this was amazing) Jambalaya (that was mine) and Gumbo (Linda). We asked everyone else to bring some sort of wonderful Southern side.... I guess the only side anyone could think of was corn bread or hush puppies (fried corn bread...) so needless to say there was plenty of corn bread to go around. We all settled in, ate some amazing food and then watched the best Mardi Gras movie there is, Princess and the Frog. This is my favorite kind of party: Food, movie, and singing (by all of the children watching the movie...and me).
Enjoying the amazing food.

All lined up with mac 'n cheese to watch the special feature

Rachel had just gotten back from New Orleans and brought back a fair amount of beads and masks for everyone!
Dressed up in our bold Mardi Gras colors, the lovely ladies who helped me put on this big party. Thank you Linda and Rachel!
