Miss Hillcrest

A few weeks back I had one of my voice students approach me and ask if I could help her polish a song for the Miss Hillcrest pageant. We worked and worked. She is only a freshman and knew she didn't have a straight shot to winning, but she knew that there were options to win scholarships.
The day came and she blew everyone out of the water! She sang with such confidence and strength. My heart was pounding and I was shaking with nerves. But she was as clam as could be. When it came time to hand out awards she didn't win the pageant, but she did win the talent section and received a $500 scholarship. I couldn't' be more proud!!! MacKayla, you are a star!
